Gestures on the ZTE Blade V70

Touch the fingerprint sensor with the finger bound to our entry while the screen is off or locked

DocumentedInput: Extra key

Requires: Fingerprint sensor; a screen lock (pattern, PIN or password) and at least one registered fingerprint. Menu layout of the late-2024/2025 ZTE/nubia manuals (Security & privacy > Device unlock).

Set it up

  1. Settings
  2. Security & privacy
  3. Device unlock
  4. Fingerprint & Face Unlock
  5. Fingerprint
  6. Simple touch
  7. Quick signal: key

This is the same Simple touch feature in the newer menu layout: each registered fingerprint (up to 5) can open its own app when it touches the sensor with the screen off or locked. Bind a finger you never use to unlock, or every normal unlock will fire our entry. The menu labels differ by model: the Blade V70 and V70 Vita manuals say Security and privacy > Device unlock > Face and fingerprint unlock, and the nubia Music 2 manual says Face & Fingerprint Unlock. Fingerprints are erased if the screen lock is set to None or Swipe. They also don't work after a restart until the PIN or pattern has been entered once. The nubia Air has an under-display sensor; the other listed models have it in the power key. Repeating the gesture needs a screen lock (power key) in between.

Recommended presets

  • Shake ×3Sends a signal

Three sharp shakes within 2.5 s: hard to do by accident, easy to do without looking.

    Shake ×3, 0.15–1 s apart · whole gesture within 2.5 s

  • Widget ×2Sends a signal

Two taps on the home-screen widget within 3 s; a single accidental tap does nothing.

    Widget ×2, 0.1–3 s apart · whole gesture within 3 s

  • Fingerprint shortcut ×2Sends a signal

The dedicated finger opens our entry twice, with a power-key lock in between; an unbound finger or pocket contact does nothing, so accidental matches are unlikely.

    Extra key ×2, 1–15 s apart · whole gesture within 15 s

  • Fingerprint shortcut + shake ×2Sends a signal

One touch with the dedicated finger, confirmed by two sharp shakes within 5 s; no re-lock is needed, and a stray touch alone never fires.

    Extra key ×1 → then within 5 s: Shake ×2, 0.1–1.5 s apart · whole gesture within 10 s

Gestures are set up in the phone settings as shown, then combined into a trigger recipe in the app, where practice mode shows step by step whether a gesture would trigger.
