Gestures on the ZTE Blade A75 (4G)

Touch the fingerprint sensor with the finger bound to our entry while the screen is off or locked

DocumentedInput: Extra key

Requires: Fingerprint sensor; a screen lock (pattern, PIN or password) and at least one registered fingerprint. Menu layout of the 2024 ZTE/nubia manuals (Password and security menu).

Set it up

  2. Password and security
  3. Fingerprint
  4. Simple touch
  5. Quick signal: key

ZTE calls this Simple touch. You can register up to 5 fingerprints and give each one its own app, which opens when that finger touches the sensor with the screen off or locked. Register a finger you never use to unlock and bind only that finger to our entry, or every normal unlock will fire it. Fingerprints are erased if the screen lock is set to None or Swipe. They also don't work after a restart until the PIN or pattern has been entered once. On phones with the sensor in the power key, the Unlock method option decides whether a touch or a press is needed. The Blade V50 Design manual adds a Fingerprint management step after Fingerprint. After an OS update the menu may be under Security & privacy > Device unlock instead (see zte-fingerprint-simple-touch-device-unlock). Repeating the gesture needs a screen lock (power key) in between.

Recommended presets

  • Shake ×3Sends a signal

Three sharp shakes within 2.5 s: hard to do by accident, easy to do without looking.

    Shake ×3, 0.15–1 s apart · whole gesture within 2.5 s

  • Widget ×2Sends a signal

Two taps on the home-screen widget within 3 s; a single accidental tap does nothing.

    Widget ×2, 0.1–3 s apart · whole gesture within 3 s

  • Fingerprint shortcut ×2Sends a signal

The dedicated finger opens our entry twice, with a power-key lock in between; an unbound finger or pocket contact does nothing, so accidental matches are unlikely.

    Extra key ×2, 1–15 s apart · whole gesture within 15 s

  • Fingerprint shortcut + shake ×2Sends a signal

One touch with the dedicated finger, confirmed by two sharp shakes within 5 s; no re-lock is needed, and a stray touch alone never fires.

    Extra key ×1 → then within 5 s: Shake ×2, 0.1–1.5 s apart · whole gesture within 10 s

Gestures are set up in the phone settings as shown, then combined into a trigger recipe in the app, where practice mode shows step by step whether a gesture would trigger.
